![]() In both cases that EC already is applied because ISO, shutter speed and aperture were set accordingly - in post that exposure compensation must under no circumstances be applied again! No wonder it is hard to get results from this mess, it is designed to be wrong and they are proud about it. In another scene I may apply a -1 EV exposure compensation because I know my camera meters too hot. The Exif exposure compensation value is the applied exposure compensation at the time of capture - but it is applied to the exposure triangle while calculating the appropriate values for the given measured exposure: So in a snowy landscape I will enter +2 exposure compensation to get from the measured exposure (which will have the landscape being captured gray) to a proper exposure for the scene. Just take one of the highlights in their DT 4.4 changes: "exposure: in a scene-referred workflow, the exposure is adjusted using the Exif exposure compensation value," ![]() The developers are in the peak of a Dunning Kruger curve of "know it all". They work hard to alienate anyone who could provide photographic knowledge because they know better(tm). That's a problem when none of the developers of that software is a photographer who has even the slightest bit of technical knowledge. I can understand why DT is unrecognized because when it runs it is unintelligible & totally difficult to get results.
